Hong Kong: The Swiss Chalet
May has had a craving for cheese fondue for a while and it just happens that I was also in the mood for an orgy of cheese. We reserved at The Swiss Chalet and and orgy of cheese it was! The fondue pot for two is huge. Add everything to dip in and that's a gigantic meal.
Now, Max Liechti, the chef/proprietor shows his roots with great flair; the fondue is really good. I remember enjoying cheese fondue but always finding it too rich in white wine. Not at Swiss Chalet; the wine just perfumes the fondue without overpower it. Very very nice.
For two, with an appetizer (White asparagus which were quite good HKD $138) and 1/3 liter of Swiss red:
HKD $840, including 10% service charge.
