Hong Kong: Just A Restaurant (JAR)

Restaurant week; we tried Just-a-Restaurant. Aptly named; nothing out of the ordinary here. Food was fine but so is the food at so many other restaurants in Hong Kong. Nothing really bad but then again, nothing impressive. Interesting that their vision is stated as "to create a company that is true to the spirit of hospitality" while I found the service to be lacking (rushed to take our orders while we were still reading the menu, then pretty much ignored us for a while). Maybe it was new staff.
Don't think it will stay open very long in Hong Kong's very competitive market.

The decor is nice enough and I thought it all felt quite comfortable.

Potato croquette with cranberry compote.
Just didn't work. Didn't marry well with the sauce. All fluff, no substance.

Crab salad & cup of French onion soup. Was fine.

Hanger steak with arugula salad.

Casarecci with portobello mushroom with caramelized onions  and goat cheese.

Banoffi pie.

HKD $783.20 for two, including $146 worth of drinks.
